
Five Runners Earn WCC All-Academic Honors

MALIBU, California " Led by Nick Heath and Tatum Rask on their respective first teams, a total of five Pepperdine men's and women's cross country runners earned West Coast Conference All-Academic honors on Wednesday.
Heath (Scotts Valley, Calif./Scotts Valley HS), a junior, made the men's first team for the second straight year. He previously earned All-WCC honorable mention status for his 15th place finish at the conference championships. Heath has a 3.98 GPA and is a business administration major.
Rask (Highlands Ranch, Colo./ThunderRidge HS), a sophomore, collected her first WCC academic honor with her first team appearance. She has a 4.00 GPA and is a political science and math major.
Men's honorable mention honorees included sophomore Adam Fahey (Clearwater, Fla./Palm Harbor University HS) and senior Kevin Maeda (Highland, Calif./Citrus Valley HS). Maeda previously made the first team in 2015.
Sophomore Izabela Garcia-Arce (Bonita, Calif./Bonita Vista HS) made the women's honorable mention team.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore in athletic and academic standing, have a minimum 3.2 grade-point average and participate in at least half of the season's cross country meets.
Head coach Robert Radnoti has now seen his student-athletes earn WCC All-Academic awards 82 times in his 12 seasons.
