MALIBU, Calif. - Seniors Lautaro Pane and Pedro Iamachkine of the Pepperdine men's tennis team won their semifinals match today at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center, advancing to the finals to be played tomorrow at 11 a.m.
The pair started the match dropping the first two games to Joel Gamerov and August Holmgren of San Diego before battling back and taking the first set to a tiebreak. They then dominated the next set, to take the match by a score of 7-6 (3), 6-3.
The duo will take on top-seeded pair Benjamin Hannestad and Tim Ruehl from Arizona State in the final match. This is the second time in three years that the pairing has made the ITA Southwest Regional doubles final. They last made the final in 2015.
