PORTLAND, Ore. " The Pepperdine women's basketball team fell to Portland, 75-55, in a West Coast Conference contest on Thursday night, despite Yasmine Robinson-Bacote's eighth double-double of the year.

Robinson-Bacote led the Waves with 17 points and 10 rebounds and helped Pepperdine cut it to a single-digit deficit midway through the fourth quarter, but Portland pulled away late. The Waves drop to 5-15 overall, 3-6 WCC, while Portland moves to 4-16, 2-7 WCC.

Pepperdine went on a 9-0 run early in the fourth quarter to cut it back to a 60-50 game, and then with 4:37 to play, two Allie Green free throws made it a nine-point deficit. That was as close as the Waves would come, however, as Portland ended the game on a 13-2 run.

Green finished the game with 15 points as the only other Wave in double figures along with Robinson-Bacote. Robinson-Bacote's eighth double-double puts her one away from moving into a tie for the ninth best single season total in program history.

It was a 40-29 game at the halftime break. The Waves got within two twice in the half, but Portland responded with 7-0 runs both times. Robinson-Bacote led all players with 13 points and seven rebounds in the first two quarters, but had to sit most of the third quarter with foul trouble.

Pepperdine was also without its starting point guard, Barbara Sitangaan, for the entirety of the second half after the freshman left the game with an injury late in the first half. The Waves' lone center, Megan House, also fouled out in the fourth quarter.

Portland's Kaylie Van Loo led all players with 19 points in the game and the Pilots had three players score in double digits.
