MALIBU, Calif. - The Pepperdine women's basketball ran into a hot-shooting Pacific squad on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Tigers 92-64 in a West Coast Conference contest.

Two days after holding Saint Mary's to just 22 field goals and only one three in a victory, Pacific hit 10 threes on the Waves and shot 45 percent for the game. With the loss, Pepperdine falls to 6-20 overall, 2-13 WCC, while Pacific moves to 11-14, 4-10 WCC.

The Waves got off to a cold start, falling behind 40-26 at the end of the first half. The Waves shot just 35.7 percent from the floor, but hit 44.4% of their threes. Four of Pepperdine's 10 field goals in the first half came from beyond the arc. The Tigers hit 40 percent from the field, getting 12 points from Hallie Eackles in the first two quarters. Pacific also went 10-for-19 from the free throw line, while the Waves were just 2-of-4.

A 7-0 run out of the break pushed it to a 21 point lead for the visitors. Pepperdine would try to claw its way back in, hitting three of their next five shots to make it a 49-33 game, but that was as close as they would come. The Tigers pushed it back to a 20 points game, 62-42, at the end of the third quarter. Pacific would only increase its advantage in the fourth.

Erica Ogwumike (Cypress, Texas/Cypress Woods HS) provided the bulk of the offense for the Waves, scoring 24 points. Yasmine Robinson-Bacote (Hillside, N.J./Hillside HS) also hit double figures, with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Tigers had five players score in double digits, with Hallie Eackles pacing the visitors with 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting from 3-point range. Mauriana Clayton notched a double-double, with 11 points and 10 boards.

The Waves will be back on the road next week, heading to Santa Clara and San Francisco.
