MALIBU, Calif. " Pepperdine men's golfer Kevin DeHuff earned his second straight Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar award, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced this week.
In order to qualify for this award, student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 at the Division I level and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.
A regular in the lineup for all four seasons, DeHuff (Coto de Caza, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic HS) graduated this past spring with a degree in business administration. As a senior, he earned All-West Coast Conference honorable mention status while helping the Waves to the 2015 WCC title. His 72.54 scoring average was second on the team and ranks 10th in school single-season history. DeHuff led the squad with six top-20 finishes.
DeHuff played 126 career rounds, a number that put him right outside of the Waves' all-time top 10, while his career scoring average of 74.22 ranks 15th.
DeHuff became just the fourth Pepperdine men's golfer to earn three WCC All-Academic first team selections. He was also Pepperdine Athletics' Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year for 2014-15.
