WATCH TOMORROW HADLICH/SIDNEY MATCH LIVE HERE
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Pepperdine men's tennis team will send two doubles and one singles competitor to the 2015 USTA Collegiate Clay Court Invitational tomorrow at ESPN Wide World of Sports. Guilherme Hadlich and Gabriel Sidney and Pedro Iamachkine and Lautaro Pane each advanced to their respective championship matches in the gold and garnet brackets, while Pane will also compete in the garnet singles championship tomorrow.
Hadlich and Sidney's match will be aired live on ESPN3 online and can be found by clicking here. The match will begin at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. PT).
The tournament, hosted by Florida State University, is being held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports and includes competition from Florida State, Baylor, UCF, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Tech, Miami, Michigan, Penn State, South Alabama, South Carolina, Stetson, TCU and Troy.
To start the day, Guilherme Hadlich (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Avanço) and Gabriel Sidney (Curitiba, Parana, Brazil/Anglo Americano) defeated No. 4 seed out of South Carolina, Gabriel Friedrich and Harrison O'Keefe with a big 8-4 final decision. The duo will take on No. 3 seed from Florida State Jose Gracia and Marco Nunez tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET (8 a.m. (PT)), and will be aired live. Also reaching the championship doubles match in the garnet bracket are Waves pair Pedro Iamachkine (Lima, Peru/Nebraska HS) and Lautaro Pane (Puerto Madryn, Argentina/SEADEA) who took down Florida State No. 4 seed Jack Haffey and Michael Rinaldi, 8-4 to earn the honors. The duo will challenge No. 3 seeded Louisville partners Sean Donohue and Christopher Morin tomorrow morning.
Pane also garnered a win on the singles side, moving on to the championship round of the garnet bracket. He bested No. 7 seed from Central Florida Jose Sangroniz by a commanding 6-1, 6-3 result to move forward. The sophomore will take on No. 1 seed out of Penn State Tomas Hanzlik at 7 a.m. (PT) tomorrow.
Iamachkine and Hadlich both faced South Carolina competition in the singles gold bracket semifinal round as well. Iamachkine dropped 6-4, 6-3 to Harrison O'Keefe and Hadlich fell 6-3, 6-4 to No. 7 seed Gabriel Friedrich, both were hard-fought battles against strong opponents.
