Nov. 16, 2015 MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine women's basketball head coach Ryan Weisenberg announced the addition of a fourth recruit to the program's 2015 recruiting class in Cydnee Kinslow.
Kinslow is a 6-foot-2 power forward from Oakley, Calif. She joins Hayley Duren, Barbara Sitanggan and Rebecca Lazuka in the Waves' class. She will graduate this December and plans to enroll early at Pepperdine for the spring semester. She will be eligible to play for the Waves at the start of the 2016-17 season.
Kinslow played her high school ball at Freedom High School in Oakley, serving as a varsity team captain all four years. A standout in the classroom as well, Kinslow earned National Honor Society and Principal's Honor Roll academic recognition. She played her AAU ball with the Cal Stars, going 56-1 with the club and winning a Nike National Championship.
Also very active in the community, Kinslow started her own Relay for Life team and enjoys working with children with special needs.
Coach Weisenberg on Cydnee: "Cydnee is a tremendous talent with a great work ethic. She is coming off a remarkable run in the summer with the Cal Stars, going 56-1 and being crowned champions of the Nike EYBL. Cydnee has a Nneka Ogwumike style of basketball; long, athletic, and never stops. Her leadership skills, and her unbridled enthusiasm are going to be great attributes for the Waves program. She exemplifies everything about the culture developing here. Cydnee is a tremendous person and we are really looking for great things from her on and off the court."
Kinslow on why she chose Pepperdine: "I chose Pepperdine because if you could create a school from my personality, this would be it. As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew it was the one."
