TOURNAMENT CENTRAL
ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. - The Pepperdine men's tennis team closed out the 2015-16 fall season this Saturday afternoon after bowing out of the Jack Kramer Club Collegiate Invitational. The Waves sent six individuals and three doubles pairs into the tournament beginning on November 12.

Pepperdine faced off against opposition from UCLA, USC, Washington, Baylor, Long Beach State, Ohio State, Cal State Fullerton, Oregon, Cal Poly and Arizona.
Competing for the Waves will include Nicholas Baez (Somis, Calif./Laurel Springs School), Guilherme Galvao (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Avanço), Scotland Garapedian (Agoura Hills, Calif./Fusion Academy), Logan Hall (Paradise Valley, Ariz./IMG Academy), Tom Hill (Birmingham, England/K12 International Academy) and Stefan Menichella (Santa Barbara, Calif./University HS). On the doubles side, Menichella and Hill, Galvao and Garapedian and Hall and Baez will pair up.
Highlighting the Waves in the doubles draw were duo Hill and Menichella who began the tournament with an 8-5 victory over Stanford's Maciej Romanowicz and Anthony Tsodikov in the round of 16. The pair then fell to No. 3-seed Joseph DiGiulio and Karue Sell, out of UCLA, 8-4.
Each also competed in singles, dropping the opening match-up, but then defeating opponents in the consolation bracket. Hill fell 6-3, 6-0 to UCLA's Ryoto Tachi before beating out Anders Holm of UCSB with a 6-2, 6-4 final mark. Menichella also fell in the round of 32 to Thibault Forget of USC, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, before taking down Washington's Piers Foley in the consolation second round with a 7-5, 6-2 decision.
Galvao and Garapedian also competed as a doubles partnership, falling in the opening round to USC's Jack Jaede and Robbie Bellamy after an 8-3 outing. On the singles side, Galvao dropped 6-1, 6-4 to Washington's Wendell Watanabe and Garapedia fell to Oliver Sec of UCSB with a 6-0 final score recorded.
Baez and Hall rounded out the Waves' competitors, losing in the round of 16 to No. 1-seed Samm Butler and Nathaniel Lammons of SMU, 8-0. Hall bowed out of the singles tournament with a loss to Trey Strobel, 6-4, 6-0, of Stanford and Baez fell to UCLA's Max Cressy after a 6-2, 6-0 mark.
