Nov. 14, 2015 MALIBU, Calif. - The second game of the Blue and Orange World Series took place today at Eddy D. Field Stadium and the Blue offense exploded for 11 runs on 16 hits in an 11-2 win.
The hitters for team blue wasted no time on Saturday afternoon. Jeremy Goldenetz (Corona, Calif./Corona Santiago HS) opened up the game with a single on the first pitch he saw. Chase Lambert (Malibu, Calif./Malibu HS) then tripled, scoring Goldenetz. Aaron Barnett (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley HS) followed with an RBI ground out and then Brad Anderson (Yorba Linda, Calif./Esperanza HS) blasted a home run, which made the score 3-0.
The Blue team added a run in the second inning on a Josh Davis (Tulsa, Okla./Union HS) home run and the two more runs in the fourth inning on a double by Barnett. They kept their foot on the gas pedal scoring a single run in the fifth and four more runs in the sixth inning on another RBI double by Barnett, a sacrifice fly by Nick Costello (Claremont, Calif./Claremont HS) and an opposite field home run by Ben Rodriguez (Scottsdale, Ariz./Desert Mountain HS).
Matt Kanfer (Playa Del Rey, Calif./L.A.C.E.S.) paced all hitters with three hits, while Goldenetz, Barnett, Anderson, Costello, and Rodriguez each collected two for Blue.
Isaiah Deutsch (Phoenix, Ariz./Desert Vista HS) had a quality start for team Blue. He went 5.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out three batters while walking just one.
Orange Hitters were led by Jake Doty (Fremont, Calif./Irvington HS) and Tyler Smith (El Segundo, Calif./St. John Bosco HS) who each had two hits.
