MALIBU, Calif. - Members of the Pepperdine men's tennis team, including Logan Hall, Jonah Kral, Alexander Solonin and Rakshay Thakkar, continued action today at the Napa Valley Collegiate Invitational with one round of doubles, followed by one round of singles.
Solonin (Tarzana, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) and Thakkar (Pune, India/St. Vincent's HS) teamed up in doubles, and despite a closely-contested effort, fell 8-5 to UNLV's Ace Matias and Denys Pume.
The freshmen pair of Hall (Paradise Valley, Ariz./IMG Academy) and Kral (Longview, Texas/Austin Tennis Academy) were beat by upperclassmen USF pair Johan Samuelsson and Vasco Valverde, albeit only by a single break of serve.
Pepperdine continued to battle in singles, but came up short in the win column. Kral dropped a narrow 7-5, 6-4 decision to Carter Lam of Hawaii, while Thakkar fell 7-5 in the third set versus Fresno State's Eric Komati.
