The #23 Pepperdine men (10-9) have won four matches in a row. They'll be tested on Wednesday (April 7) with a match at #9 UCLA at 2 p.m. The Bruins won the first meeting at home earlier this season 4-0 in the ITA Kickoff Weekend. Then, Pepperdine comes back home with a doubleheader on Saturday (April 10) against #29 Denver at 11 a.m. and #67 UC Santa Barbara at 3:30 p.m.
The #54 Pepperdine women (6-12) continue their 12-match homestand with three more contests this week. The Waves host #55 Cal Poly on Wednesday (April 7) at 1:30 p.m., Loyola Marymount on Thursday (April 8) at 1:30 p.m. and San Francisco on Sunday (April 11) at 1 p.m.
Pepperdine's men have a winning record at home at 8-3, and after the UCLA contest, the final three regular-season matches are at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center. Senior Bassam Beidas (Cairo, Egypt) is ranked #33 by the ITA in singles, while freshman Sebastian Fanselow (Essen, Germany) jumped up to #58 last week. Fanselow is a team-best 8-2 in his last 10 matches. The #1 doubles team of Beidas and sophomore Alex Llompart (Carolina, Puerto Rico) is ranked 22nd.
Pepperdine's women are currently 2-6 on this homestand with four left to play in the regular season. Eight of the Waves' losses have been to top 15-ranked teams this season. Freshman Arianna Colffer (Corona, Calif.) is ranked #87 by the ITA in singles, while junior Anamika Bhargava (Collierville, Tenn.) is #120.
The West Coast Conference Championships are April 23-25 in San Diego.
