Fanselow Posts Big Win in Waves' Defeat

COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Freshman Sebastian Fanselow posted his most impressive win of the season to date but the #24 Pepperdine men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at #18 Texas A&M on Friday evening.

Fanselow (Essen, Germany), who is ranked #110 in the nation, defeated 30th-ranked Jeff Dadamo, 6-2, 6-4, at the #2 singles position. Fanselow is 4-1 since being elevated to the #2 slot and is now 6-2 against nationally ranked players this season.

But Pepperdine's only other victory came at #2 doubles, where sophomore Hugh Clarke (Brisbane, Australia) and freshman Finn Tearney (Wellington, New Zealand) won by an 8-4 score. The Waves gave a strong effort in singles, with three of the matches being pushed to three sets before the Aggies prevailed.

All eight of Pepperdine's losses this season have been to nationally ranked teams, with six of them coming against opponents ranked in the top 20.

Pepperdine (6-8) continues its Lone Star State swing at #5 Texas on Sunday (March 21).
