Men's Tennis Edged by Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The #16 Pepperdine men's tennis team made a nice comeback to force its match at #19 Florida State to come down to the final point, but the #19 Seminoles held on for a 4-3 victory on Saturday.

Florida State swept doubles play and won at #1 and #2 singles in straight sets to go ahead 3-0. But the Waves won the next three points thanks to freshman Sebastian Fanselow (Essen, Germany) at #3 singles, sophomore Daniel Moss (Malibu, Calif.) at #6 singles and freshman Mousheg Hovhannisyan (North Hollywood, Calif.) at #4 singles. Fanselow earned a victory over the nation's 56th-ranked player.

Only the final singles match went to a third set. Unfortunately for the Waves, Florida State's Andres Bucaro outdueled freshman Finn Tearney (Wellington, New Zealand) at the #5 position, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
