TULSA, Oklahoma – Pepperdine men’s tennis player Andre Begemann, ended his career with a loss to J.P Smith (Tennessee) at the NCAA Division I Singles semi-finals Sunday, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
“Andre had an outstanding career at Pepperdine. He’s one of the best players this program has ever seen,” said Head Coach Adam Steinberg. “I’m proud of how he fought through this week and played great tennis. I hope he follows his dream and becomes a professional tennis player.”
Begemann (Blomberg, Germany) was defeated by the freshman standout from Australia, 2-6, 4-6. He finishes his career at Pepperdine as a three-time All-American, two-time WCC Player of the Year, member of the 2006 NCAA Division I National Championship team and 2008 Pepperdine Athlete of the Year.
