MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine Women’s Basketball Head Coach Julie Rousseau announced today that Alex Jarrell, a senior at Shelbyville High School, located in Shelbyville, Tennessee, has signed a letter of intent to play for the Waves next year.
“This was worth the wait,” said Rousseau. “We’ve been working with Alex since the beginning of her senior year. We’re happy it finally materialized and she will become part of our Pepperdine family. She’s a perfect fit for our program in that she’s a Christian, an excellent student and a great athlete and as I promised her mother, we will take good care of her!”
The 6’4” post player was named to the 2008 All-Region, All-District and second team All-State. The talented high school senior also received the Street & Smith All-American Honorable Mention award.
Aside from her accolades on the court, Jarrell was the valedictorian for the 2008 Shelbyville High School graduating class.
