Thames Named WCC Player of the Week

MALIBU, Calif. – After hitting .588 last week and leading Pepperdine to a sweep of San Francisco, junior outfielder Eric Thames was named the WCC Player of the Week on Monday as announced by the league office.

 

Thames (San Jose, Calif./West Valley JC/Bellarmine Prep) finished last week with a .588 batting average (10-for-17) with one home run, seven RBI and four stolen bases. Thames ended the weekend with consecutive four-hit games against the Dons to boost his batting average to .408. This is Thames’ second WCC Player of the Week award this season, as he also received the honor on Mar. 10 after hitting four home runs and notching 13 RBI the previous week.

 

Thames and the Waves return to action tomorrow, as they will face #25 Long Beach State in Long Beach at 6:30 p.m.
