“We didn’t come out like we should have. We were flat footed and one or two balls can change the whole outcome of the match in doubles,” said Altmann. “We picked it up and finally broke their spirit. It was a difficult match against a tough team. Rankings don’t always reflect the strength of a team.”
The top three singles players for Pepperdine handily defeated their
No. 4 singles Lemke, retired from his match against Jonathan Dahan, 3-6, 2-3, with a strained hip flexor.
