The meet begins at 10 a.m. and is expected to run until about 2:30 p.m. Pepperdine, UCSB,
In addition to fielding a women’s team for the third year in a row, Pepperdine will also have a men’s team for the first time under the direction of head coach Robert Radnoti. He is eager to see how his young group does.
“We have 28 freshmen and less than 10 upperclass runners, though not everyone will be running in this first meet, and everyone is very excited to start the season,” Radnoti said. “Our men’s and women’s cross country teams are coming off the best season in Pepperdine history and we’re looking forward to continuing that success in track season. Last year, the women’s track team broke the school records in every event and I believe we have the team to push all of our records even further down.”
Radnoti credits assistant coaches Melvin Jones and Johnny Gray for the job they have done preparing the athletes for the new season.
On the women’s side, Radnoti mentioned Amanda Ajdari, Bridgette Walker, Kristen Rowsey, Anna Honig, Courtney Young and Brieanna Carroll as ones to watch.
