Women's Track Fares Well at South Florida Invite

MALIBU, Calif. -
The Pepperdine women's track team competed in its first meet outside the state of California when it ran at the University of South Florida Invitational over the weekend in Tampa, Fla.
Caitlin White turned in the team's best finish while in Tampa, Fla. with her fifth-place finish in the 3000-meter run in a time of 10:41.46.
Lauren Carfioli recorded a personal-best time of 2:25.54 in her 12th place finish in the 800m, bettering teammate Taylor Gamble's time of 2:28.56.
All told, Pepperdine set five new school marks in just its fourth meet of the 2007 season.
The track team will return to action on Sat., March 17 when it runs at the Cal State Northridge relays.
