Lemke, Altmann-Lemke Win SoCal Intercollegiate Tennis Titles

LOS ANGELES, Calif. Â After a grueling three hour match, Pepperdine men’s tennis player James Lemke claimed the singles title of the 51st Southern California Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament held at the Los Angeles Tennis Club, Sunday.

Lemke (Melbourne, Australia) defeated teammate Omar Altmann (Cairo, Egypt) 7-6, 6-3, 7-6 in the finals. On Saturday, the team of Altman and Lemke defeated Mears and Sanchez of BYU (8-2) to take home the tournament’s doubles title.

“This is a great ending to our fall season. James just won his first singles title and Omar and James won the doubles title yesterday,” said head coach Adam Steinberg. “Their victories have helped the morale of the team.”
