MALIBU, Calif. – A total of seven members of the Pepperdine women’s soccer team earned West Coast Conference honors, the league office announced today.
Sophomore midfielder Sophia Medina (Downey, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) was named to the All-WCC second team.
Six players received All-WCC honorable mention honors: junior defender Kelsey Baker (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School), freshman defender Cammie Burke (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines HS), freshman forward Kylie McDonald (Westlake Village, Calif./Westlake HS), sophomore defender/forward Courtney Price (Corona, Calif./Colony HS), freshman midfielder Nicole Romanowski (Coto de Caza, Calif./Tesoro HS) and junior forward Amanda Rupp (Encinitas, Calif./La Costa Canyon HS).
Additionally, Burke and McDonald earned All-Freshman team honors.
The Waves ended the 2007 season with an overall record of 5-8-6 and finished sixth in the WCC at 2-4-1.
Portland swept the top awards, including Player of the Year (Angie Woznuk), Defensive Player of the Year (Stephanie Lopez), Freshman of the Year (Keelin Winters) and Coach of the Year (Garrett Smith).
