Waves' Season Ends With Overtime Loss

SPOKANE, Wash. Â In the Pepperdine women’s soccer team’s season finale at Gonzaga on Saturday, the Waves played an overtime game for the seventh time this year. Unlike the previous six that ended in ties, this one resulted in a 1-0 loss for Pepperdine.

The Waves end their season at 5-8-6 overall and 2-4-1 in the West Coast Conference. Gonzaga improves to 12-7-1, 3-4-0.

The contest almost ended in a tie, as Gonzaga’s goal came with just 58 seconds left in the second overtime period (109:02). The Bulldogs’ Lori Conrad scored off an assist by Nanda McCormick.

Pepperdine junior goalkeeper Kayla Stolte (Santee, Calif./West Hills HS) made a season-high eight saves as the Waves were outshot, 18-11.
