Waves Play In National Championship Event

TULSA, Okla. Â The Pepperdine men’s tennis team kicks off the 2007-2008 season today with the 2007 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Representing the Waves in the Main Draw are sophomore Bassam Beidas (Cairo, Egypt/ Manor House School) and senior Andre Begemann (Bloomberg, Germany/ Santa Fe College).

No. 8 ranked Begemann is scheduled to play at 11 a.m. against Sheeve Parbhu of Notre Dame. Beidas will meet Jack Baker of South Alabama at 11:30 a.m. The winners of each match will advance to the second round later this afternoon. The event takes place at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at the University of Tulsa.

The Polo Ralph Lauren All-American tennis Championships is a three event national championship series during the 2007-08 collegiate tennis seasons. Two others are the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in November and the season-ending NCAA Championships in May.
