Begemann advances to ITA Division I Regionals Finals

Los Angeles Â Smoke and fire didn’t stop Pepperdine’s men’s tennis player Andre Begemann from advancing to the finals of the ITA Division I Regionals singles competition. Begemann (Blomberg, Germany / Santa Fe College) defeated Haythem Abid (UCLA) 6-2, 6-1, Monday, when the match was moved to USC due to the Malibu fires.

Begemann will play Mathieu Dehane (UCLA) in the singles finals Tuesday, at UCLA at 1:30 p.m.

The doubles team of Begemann Â Altmann ended the tournament in second place after being defeated in the finals Monday, by

 Farah Â Van’t Hoff (USC) 9-8.
