New School Records Highlight Northridge Invite

MALIBU, Calif. - In its second track meet of the season, Pepperdine's 4x800-meter, 4x1600m teams raced to school record finishes, while Crystal Brown turned in the program's fastest time in the 100m dash at the Cal State Northridge Invitational over the weekend.
Brown's 14.61 second clocking in the 100m is the top time for a Wave this season as she was followed closely by Tina Jeon's 15.17.
In the 1500M, Marissa Kerby finished ninth overall finishing the three-plus lap race in a time of 5:34.55, while Ashley Burt placed 16th in a time of 5:50.53.
Pepperdine fielded a 4x1600m team of Sarah Camp, Amanda Gordon, Kyla Maher and Brieanna Carroll. As the anchor leg, Carroll ran a team-best split time of 5:21 as the Waves finished third in the event. Camp ran the opening leg in a time of 5:35 before giving way to Gordon who handed the baton to Maher who finished the two-lap leg in 5:38.
A consistent effort from all four legs of the 4x800m relay team produced a sixth-place finish. Lauren Carfioli got things off to a fast start with a team-best 2:33 opening leg. Maher was just off the pace set in the opening leg, finishing in 2:34 before giving way to Julia Ann Frudden who turned in a 2:35 clocking. Beth Bedingfield ran the anchor leg in a time of 2:42 giving Pepperdine a 10:25.75 finish.
The Waves will return to action on Sat., March 25, when it competes at the Long Beach State Classic in Long Beach, Calif.
