Pepperdine's Michael Putnam Named to All-Pacific Region Team

Malibu, Calif. - Senior All-American Michael Putnam was named to the Ping All-Pacific Region team and, along with junior Alex Coe, was selected a Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Tuesday.
Each of the nine PING All-Region teams is comprised of 15 golfers and any player ranked in the top 75 nationally in either Golfstat or the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and competed in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his teams competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Putnam, who led the Waves with a 70.73 stroke average, was named All-West Coast Conference (WCC) and selected to the WCC All-Academic team, graduated this past April with a 3.33 GPA and a degree in business.
Coe completed his season with a 74.00 stroke average, was named All-WCC and selected to the conference's all-academic team.
Putnam will conclude his collegiate career later this week when he competes in the NCAA Championships as an individual beginning Wednesday at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. The 72-hole tournament runs Wednesday through Saturday with 18 holes scheduled each day.
