MALIBU, Calif. - Coming off a break out senior season during 2004-05, Pepperdine's Jennifer Lacy, along with two other players, inked a Free Agent contract with the 2004 WNBA Eastern Conference Champion Connecticut Sun. Lacy reported to camp Sun., April 24 and is scheduled to compete in the first of four exhibition games starting May 1.
The 6-foot-3 Lacy was named to the All-West Coast Conference (WCC) first team and was a three-time Player of the Week during her senior campaign. The Agoura Hills, Calif., native averaged a team-high 16.9 points per game last season, while pulling down 8.1 rebounds and recording a team-best 24 blocks.
"We are very proud of Jennifer," noted Pepperdine head coach Julie Rousseau. "She has worked very hard for this opportunity and I know she is going to continue to improve and have a very long and successful professional career."
Connecticut posted a 23-19 mark a year ago in falling to Seattle in the WNBA Championships.
