PORTLAND, Ore. - Pepperdine senior Jennifer Lacy scored game-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds Saturday night as the Waves spoiled Portland's senior night at the Chiles Center in Portland Ore. The Waves have now won 15 out of the last 16 meetings between the two schools. The Waves (10-14, 6-5 WCC) collected a 51-30 rebounding margin and outscored the Pilots (6-18, 1-10 WCC) 23-3 on second chance points.

After three ties and five lead changes in the first half, Pepperdine took a seven-point lead on a lay-up from Kelsey Ball midway through the second half. Portland freshman Brooke Fernandez cut the deficit to 50-48 with a lay-up at 9:24, but Portland would only connect on one field goal during the next six minutes as Pepperdine pushed the lead to double-digits. Fernandez finished with 10 points and a career-high eight rebounds.

Pepperdine made 16-of-23 free-throws in the game compared to Portland's 4-of-7. The four Pilot free-throws were the second lowest total of the season.

Pepperdine overcame a three-point deficit early in the game with an 18-6 run to take a 33-24 lead with 4:05 left in the first half. The Pilots would score the final five points of the period to make it 33-29 at the break. Lacy had 12 first-half points to lead the Waves.

Syreeta Stafford and Jasmane Clarendon added 12 points each for the Waves, while Portland junior Whitney Grant finished with 14 points. Grant hit a three-pointer in her seventh-straight game and now has at least one trey in 20-of-24 games this season.

The Waves will close out the regular season with three home contests starting next weekend when they host Santa Clara and Saint Mary's at Firestone Fieldhouse. Tip is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (PT) on Thursday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
