The Pepperdine Swimming and Diving team continued to give a successful showing at the 2004 PCSC Championship through day two today. To keep Pepperdine swimming and diving fans up to date, Waves head coach Nick Rodionoff and staff agreed to keep a journal this week, providing interesting notes and highlights throughout the four-day event:
Wednesday
Because of illness, personnel changes had to be made in the 800 Free Relay. The team of Lindsey Krusen, Alison Reddick, Meghan Melton and Maura Bolger placed 6th and swam a season best time of 7:54.4.
Additionally, all 5 divers placed in the top 9...Lindsay Stephens and Emily Andrews finished 2nd and 3rd , with Lindsay Stephens qualifying for NCAA's.
Thursday...
Pepperdine swimmers had an excellent first day of individual event competition at the 2004 PCSC Championships being held in Long Beach, CA.
Maura Bolger led the group off swimming her best season time twice (once in pre-lims and then breaking it again in Finals) in the 500 Freestyle, placing 5th in a 5:08.91.
The IM swimmers all qualified to return for the evening, scoring heats. Stephanie Hammond swam her best season time twice (once in pre-limes and then breaking it again in finals) placing 12th. Lindsey Krusen and Nicole Okuna both placed in the 200 IM as well, with Nicole swimming her best season time in the pre-lims and then breaking that time again in the evening swim.
Ketrina Lemmen led the 50 Freestylers placing 10th and swimming a 24.49 within 5 100th 's of a second of her best season time. Heather Brehmer also placed in the 50 Free, swimming her season best time of a 25.06.
The evening was topped off by the 200 Freestyle Relay of Nicole Okuna, Heather Brehmer, Meghan Melton, and Ketrina Lemmen swimming their season best time of a 1:38.46.
