No. 25 UCLA Holds Off Waves, 74-61

MALIBU, Calif. - Lindsey Pluimer scored 22 points and Noelle Quinn added 20 to lead No. 25 UCLA over Pepperdine 74-61 Thursday night.

Pluimer had 13 points in the second half, when the Bruins (4-1) built on a 29-27 lead they held at the break.

UCLA shot only 29 percent in the first half, but made 17 of 30 shots after the break. The Bruins also kept the Waves (1-5) scoreless for four minutes in the second half and extended their lead to 58-39 in that span.

The Bruins also got 14 points from Lisa Willis.

The Waves were led by Lauren Wenski's career-high 16 points and Jennifer Lacy with 15.

Pepperdine will be back on the road this weekend as it heads to the Contra Costal Times Classic in Berkeley, Calif. The Waves will face Tennessee Tech in the first round Saturday and play Cal or Cal State Northridge on Sunday.
