MALIBU, Calif. - After a 10-day layoff, the Pepperdine women's basketball team will return to action as it hosts the Hilton Woodland Hills Beach Classic Monday and Tuesday at Firestone Fieldhouse. BYU and Vanderbilt will open the tournament Monday at 5:30 p.m. (PT) with Pepperdine and Wright State playing in the nightcap.
Pepperdine (2-7) has not played a game in 10 days following an 85-49 loss to second-ranked Stanford at Maples Pavilion on Dec. 10.
The Waves are led in scoring by senior Jennifer Lacy who is averaging 14.6 points a contest. Sophomore Lauren Wenski is second on the team in scoring at 9.6 per game, while Teiosha George ranks thrid at 7.0.
Wright State (5-4) is comming off a loss to Cal State Northridge, a team Pepperine has already defeated this season, and is led by a quartet of players averaging over 10.0 points-per-game.
Tuesday's action will begin at 5:30 with Wright State playing either BYU/Vanderbilt with the Waves to follow at 7:30.
