The Pepperdine women's basketball team will open a tough four games in six days stretch Tues. night in Fort Collins, Colo., as it takes on the Colorado State Rams at 6:00 p.m. in Moby Arena.
West Coast Conference `Player of the Week,' Jennifer Lacy leads the Waves, averaging 16.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game through the first four contests this season. Sophomore Lauren Wenski is second on the team in scoring at 8.3 points per game and has connected on 9-27 from beyond the three-point arc.
The Waves (1-3) took second at the Four Points LAX Turkey Shoot-out over the weekend after downing Cal State Fullerton, 60-47, in the first round and falling, 61-51, to Montana in the championship game.
Colorado State (3-1) has won its last two contests with its lone blemish a 69-47 loss to No. 6 Notre Dame. The Rams boast three players who average more than 10 points per game in Melissa Dennett (15.0), Linsay Thomas (14.0) and Vanessa Espinoza (11.3).
Pepperdine will host UCLA on Thursday before hitting the road again for the Contra Coastal Times Classic in Berkeley, Calif., where it will take on Tennessee Tech at 1:00 p.m. (PT) and either Cal or Cal State Northridge on Sunday.
