Pepperdine Falls To No. 19 Kansas State, 85-53

Manhattan, Kan. (AP) - Preseason All-American Kendra Wecker had 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 19 Kansas State to an 85-53 win over Pepperdine.

Brie Madden scored a career-high 18 and Megan Mahoney added 15 for the Wildcats (2-0), who had five players score in double figures.

Wecker's 37th career double-double moved her within two of Kansas State record holder Nicole Ohlde. The Wildcats have now won 34 consecutive regular-season home games.

Jennifer Lacy scored 13 for Pepperdine (0-2), which has lost its first two games by an average of 26 points. The Waves finished second in the West Coast Conference a year ago and have made the postseason in four of the last five seasons.

Madden, whose previous career-high was 14, scored 15 in the first half to help the Wildcats build an early 29-10 lead.

Leading 46-25 at the break, Kansas State opened the second half with a 23-5 run to put the game away.
