Led by the trio of Tarrah Crowley, Kyla Maher and Katie Clary, the Pepperdine women's cross country team finished a solid ninth at the 27-team UC San Diego Triton Classic in San Diego on Saturday.
The men finished 17th in the 10-kilometer race as freshman Brian Washburn led the Waves, placing 51st with a time of 27:53.9.
Crowley was Pepperdine's top finisher on the women's side, placing 42nd with a time of 24:28.3. Maher clocked a time of 24:33.9 to finish 44th while Clary was 45th in a time of 24:34.8.
Oklahoma State won the women's six-kilometer team title, totalling 46 points. Portland (84) was second followed by UCLA (99), Hawaii (144) and UC San Diego (148). Pepperdine totalled 248 points to place ninth.
Orange Coast College won the men's competition with 80 points. Concordia (102) placed second followed by San Francisco (109), UC San Diego (122) and Cal Coast TC (162). The Waves totaled 406 points to place 15th
