Morgan Davenport

Morgan Davenport joined the Pepperdine Athletics staff in February of 2019 and was elevated to Assisant Athletic Director for Marketing and Communications in February of 2025.

Davenport is responsible for leading the Pepperdine Athletics marketing/fan engagement and communications departments while implementing creative strategies to elevate the Pepperdine brand and tell the story of the Waves student-athletes, teams, coaches and staff. In her role, she helps collaborate with outward-facing mediums to develop initiatives that expand the footprint of the athletic department– and Pepperdine as a whole. 
As a former student-athlete, Davenport understands the need for digital content that tells the story of Pepperdine programs, student-athletes and the University and leads the strategic storytelling of all 17 NCAA Division I Pepperdine Athletics programs through social media, creative video and photography, graphic design and broadcast. She also serves as the primary sports information contact for the men’s basketball program.

Since 2019, Davenport has assisted in the coverage of multiple conference and postseason championships, including the 2021 NCAA men’s golf championship as well as the men’s basketball CBI championship and the women’s tennis championship runners-up from the same year. In March of 2024, she assisted at the NCAA March Madness Los Angeles Regional in Crypto.com Arena.

A native of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Davenport previously worked with the Oklahoma City Thunder as a Game Operations and Entertainment Associate. She dealt with pre-and-in-game duties and promotions, creating an electric environment for the Thunder that was voted the Best Fan Experience in the NBA. She also worked for the Energy FC- Oklahoma City's United Soccer League affiliate- before moving to Southern California. There, she directed on-field promotions as well as acted as the team emcee. 

A 2017 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Davenport obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism while playing basketball for the Lady Bison. She also worked as an Athletic Media Relations intern, writing for and about many of the Bison and Lady Bison teams while creating new media for the department including video and social media.
