Monique' Jones begins her first year on the Pepperdine women's basketball coaching staff in the 2023-24 season.
Jones comes to Malibu after spending over a decade coaching high school girls' basketball in Arizona and in Iowa. She spent the last three years coaching varsity girls basketball and teaching at West Point High School, located in Avondale, Ariz. She had a 35-19 record as a head coach from 2021-23, plus she helped coach the All-Region Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.
Prior to her stint in Arizona, she held a myriad of varsity and junior varsity girls' basketball coaching positions at West Des Moines Valley High School from 2010-2019. At Valley High School, she led her team to a runner-up finish in the state tournament in 2015. Five of Jones’ players at Valley High School went on to play collegiate basketball.

In college, Jones was a four-year starter at Drake University. She was named the team’s best defensive player several times throughout her career, plus she helped the Bulldogs reach the NCAA Tournament in 2007.
Off the court, she helped with Drake women’s basketball camps in and she also served as the Bulldogs’ play-by-play radio announcer in 2010.
Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in education in 2010, plus her master of science degree in education from Drake in 2018.
