PEPPERDINE XC 2022 (JR): Competed in four out of six meets in the 8K … Had a season-best 8K of 25:30.8 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational (10/15).
 
PEPPERDINE XC 2021 (SO): Ran in six of the seven races … Had a collegiate-best 8K of 25:30.0 at the Bronco Invitational (10/16) and 10K of 34:05.8 at the NCAA West Regional (11/12).

PEPPERDINE TRACK 2023 (JR): Did not compete this season.
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2022 (SO): Competed in five of the 10 meets … Ran the 800 meters four times with a season-best of 1:59.60 at the Steve Scott Invitational (4/30) … Also ran the 1,500 meters once.
 
PEPPERDINE TRACK 2021 (FR): Competed at one meet ... Ran a 15:50.23 5K at Azusa Pacific (5/15).
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Carroll High School, located in Southlake, Texas, in 2020 … Ran four years of varsity cross country and two years of varsity track … In cross country, had consecutive top-10 finishes at the Nike South Regional Championships and qualified for Nike Cross Nationals as a junior and a senior… Helped Carroll High School win a 6A state cross country title as a senior … Won the 6A District 5 cross country title as a senior … Was a finalist for USA Today’s Dallas Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year award as a senior … In track, was the 6A District 5 3200 meter champion and was also the runner-up in the 1600 as a junior … Was an AP Scholar with Distinction.

PERSONAL: Majoring in economics ... Born in Houston, Texas … Son of Eric and Jill Lannen … Has two siblings, Jake and Cate … Chose to attend Pepperdine because “the mature religious environment as well as the academic environment drew me to Pepperdine more than anything. The school’s geography certainly didn’t hinder my decision though.”

FAVORITES: Enjoys poetry and watching YouTube… Favorites include Avatar: The Last Airbender (TV show), Immortal Technique (musical artist), Good Will Hunting (movie), The Poisonwood Bible (book) and lacrosse (sport other than running) … Favorite thing about running is “competing with my friends and trash-talking them — respectfully, of course.”
