Tari Frahm Rokus Field has been the home of the Pepperdine women's soccer team since the program came into existence in the fall of 1993, and it has given the Waves a distinct home-field advantage.

The Waves played their first-ever match at Tari Frahm Rokus Field on Sept. 6, 1993, but lost 3-2 to Seattle University in overtime. However, the team rebounded to win its final eight home matches that year.

That run of success has continued as the Waves have posted a winning record at home in every single season since, including a perfect mark of 10-0-0 in 2002 as they made their run to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The Waves have had three more undefeated home seasons: 7-0-2 in 2006, 6-0-3 in 2010 and 8-0-1 in 2017. The Sweet 16 team of 2014 went 9-1-1, the second-most home wins of any team in Pepperdine history.

Pepperdine has hosted NCAA Tournament first-round matches in Malibu five times: 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Pepperdine celebrated its 100th home victory on Sept. 26, 2009, following a 6-0 win vs. Idaho State.

Construction of a Bermuda grass playing surface with subterranean drainage was completed during the summer of 1998 by Valley Crest Landscaping, a company that has constructed numerous Major League Baseball and National Football League stadiums and various venues for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. A new electronic scoreboard was added to the facility prior to the 1999 campaign. Prior to the 2013 season, a Kentucky Bluegrass hybrid was put in as the playing surface.

The original dirt track was renovated in 1989 thanks to a donation by longtime Malibu residents Dorothy and Ed Stotsenberg. The facility was transformed into an Olympic-sized, eight-lane track with an all-weather surface. It is used extensively on a daily basis by faculty and staff, students and community residents. During the summer of 2013, the track was reduced to four lanes in order to expand the soccer field and give it the proper width under NCAA regulations.
