No. 13 Women's Golf Tied for Lead Following Day One at Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — No. 13 Pepperdine women's golf is currently tied for the lead following day one at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational from UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque.
The second round was cut short due to lightning with 2-4 holes remaining across the course, as the round will wrap up tomorrow morning beginning at 7:30 a.m. MT ahead of the final round.
The Waves finished 7-under par as a team, tied with UNLV for the lead. Pepperdine was tied for second following the opening round at 5-under par, as the Waves were 2-under in the second round prior to the stoppage.
Kylee Choi sits in the solo lead individually at -8 after firing a round of 68 (-4) in the morning before being 4-under through 15 holes in the second round. Choi holds a two-shot lead on the individual leaderboard.
"It was a long day on the course today until some lightning didn't allow us to finish the second round," said head coach Laurie Gibbs. "The players are competing well and are currently tied for 1st with Kylee leading individually. Hoping for good weather tomorrow to battle for the tournament win!"
Kylee Choi carded a bogey-free 68 to open the tournament, as she was tied for the individual lead after 18 holes of play. Choi built up a lead in the second round with 4-under 32 on the front nine with four more birdies, eventually rebounding from her lone bogey on the day with another birdie. Choi will play holes 16-18 tomorrow to conclude round two.
Irene Kim also sits in the top-10 individually with a 1-under par mark for the tournament so far. Kim shot an even par 72 in the morning, carding a pair of birdies and bogeys on both the front and back nine. Kim went in the red in the afternoon, as she currently sits 1-under in her second round with three holes to play.
Grace Anderson logged a 73 (+1) in the morning, pouring in five birdies across the opening round of her junior campaign. Anderson kept the pace in the second round, as she was 1-over again, with three holes left to play. She sits in a tie for 18th (+2) on the individual leaderboard.
Eunseo Choi concluded the day in a tie for 22nd individually at +3 through 32 holes. She fired a 2-under 70 in the morning, posting a 34 on the front nine before an even par-36 on the back. Her second round scorecard currently reads 5-over with four holes to play.
Katelyn Kong is in a tie for 40th individually at +6 so far for the tournament. Kong's debut round with the Waves saw her post a +4 (76) scorecard, finishing with three birdies in her final seven holes. She then logged four birdies in the afternoon, currently sitting at +2 in the second round with two holes left to play.
Competing as an individual, Kaya Daluwatte sits at 8-over par and in a tie for 48th individually. Daluwatte's debut collegiate round saw her post a 75 (+3), with her second round being 5-over par with four holes left to play.
