Mahanth Chirravuri Named Among 10 Finalists for Fred Haskins Award

COLUMBUS, Ga. - Down to the top-10! Mahanth Chirravuri of Pepperdine men's golf has been tabbed as one of 10 finalists' for the Fred Haskins Award, as announced this morning by media partners Golfweek, Golf Channel, and The Back of the Range.
The award is named after Fred Haskins, a club professional that spent his life nurturing and mentoring amateur golfers. The foundation, based in Columbus, Ga., oversees the voting for the Haskins Award conducted among college golfers, coaches and college golf media. Past winners of the Haskins Award presented by Stifel have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Beginning in 1971, the Fred Haskins Award presented by Stifel is annually given to the top male U.S. collegiate D1 golfer as voted on by players, coaches, members of the college golf media, and past Haskins Award winners.

Along with being named a Finalist for the Haskins Award, all finalists will receive an invitation to Haskins Honors which will be held at Grand Blanc Maison on Wednesday, May 27th. This special evening will be hosted by the Haskins Foundation, The Back of the Range, the College World Golf Championships Foundation, and the 1971-73 Haskins Award winner, Ben Crenshaw.

Voting will open on Friday, May 22nd and end on Monday, June 1st after the completion of the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship. Current Division I players, coaches, past Haskins Award winners, men's golf SID's, and select college golf media members are eligible to vote for Haskins Award. Â
