
No. 15 Men's Golf Wins NCAA Regional, Advances to NCAA Championships

BERMUDA RUN, N.C. - For the first time in program history, Pepperdine men's golf has won an NCAA Regional. The No. 15 Waves clinched a spot in the NCAA Championships with a tie in first place at the Winston-Salem regional in North Carolina on Wednesday, shooting 36-under as a team.
Pepperdine is among only a few teams in the nation where men's and women's golf finished first and second in regionals action.
Senior Mahanth Chirravuri was absolutely sensational all tournament, finishing fourth individually with a 13-under outing. He was bogey-free in the third round and sunk a trio of birdies along the way. Chirravuri, the 11th-ranked golfer in the country, shot 66-66-68 for the tournament.
Willy Walsh went four-under on Wednesday. He filled the scorecard with eight birdies, two bogeys, and a double-bogey. Walsh leapfrogged a half-dozen spots on the leaderboard, cracking the top-10. He shot 69-70-67 for the tournament.
Brady Siravo slotted in a tie for 18th individually, also shooting four-under in the final round. The Sacramento native dropped in an eagle on four and was sharp through the front nine. A double-bogey on 14 was his only blemish as he cruised to five-under for the tournament.
Carson Kim rounded out the Waves' lineup by finishing the tournament one-under. The bright spot for Kim in a challenging third round was an eagle on four.
