MALIBU, Calif. — Pepperdine men's basketball head coach Griff Aldrich has announced the signing of senior guard Jahari Williamson from Kent State ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Williamson is a 6-1 guard from Pickering, Ontario, Canada, who played this past season at Kent State after beginning his collegiate career with stints at Valparaiso and Niagara.
"I could not be more excited about welcoming Jahari into our program," said Aldrich. "A tremendous basketball talent, Jahari is a fine young man whose values match those of Pepperdine and will be a tremendous fit with both our program and university. An electric scorer and elite shot-maker, Jahari has the ability to stretch the floor through his offensive capabilities. Jahari is also a defensive presence with the ability to be a tremendous on-ball defender."
Williamson started all 34 games for the Golden Flashes in 2025-26, averaging 10.3 points per game. He ranked fourth in the MAC with 81 made threes during the season while being second in the conference with a .445 clip from long range. Among all players with 50 or make makes from three in the country, Williamson ranked 18th in three-point percentage.
As a sophomore at Niagara in 2024-25, Williamson appeared in all 31 games for the Purple Eagles with 12 starts. He ranked sixth in the MAAC in three-point shooting at .410, while averaging 8.7 points per game.
Williamson began his collegiate career at Valparaiso, appearing in all 30 games for the Beacons with five starts in 2023-24. He ranked third on the team with 7.9 points per game, while knocking down 40 threes on the season.
Williamson played his high school basketball at Royal Crown Academy in Toronto. He has also represented Canada on the international stage, earning a spot on the Canadian U19 World Cup Team in 2023. He also helped lead Team Ontario to the U18 Championship at the 2022 Canada Games, scoring 16 points in the Championship game to defeat British Columbia.
