No. 28 Men's Tennis Totals Nine WCC All-Conference Awards

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — No. 28 Pepperdine men's tennis had a strong showing in the West Coast Conference this spring, and the squad earned over a half-dozen All-Conference awards as a result of the success.

Lasse Poertner earned Singles All-Conference First Team alongside Edward Winter, while Aleksa Pisaric garnered Singles All-Conference Second Team recognition. Freshman Gustavo Ribeiro de Almeida, David Fix, and Maxi Homberg were all Honorable Mentions.

The duo of Pisaric and Poertner earned Doubles All-Conference Second Team in addition to the tandem of brother Edward and Hugh Winter. The combination of Homberg and Almeida collected Doubles All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Poertner, a sophomore from Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany, displayed his leadership skills throughout the season and finished 11-6 in singles play overall, including a 2-1 mark in WCC action. He heads into the conference tournament on Friday having won seven of his last 10 singles matches, most recently defeating UC Santa Barbara's Dominique Rolland, who is ranked 57th in the country, in straight sets. Poertner earned WCC Singles All-Conference First team honors in 2025 and collected Singles Player of the Week on March 3 and February 3.

Edward Winter continues to rack up the accolades, having earned his sixth career All-Conference award. The Adelaide, Australia native battled through a challenging spring but is going into postseason play having beaten 89th-ranked Lucca Liu in straight sets on Sunday at UC Santa Barbara to conclude the regular season. Edward and Hugh Winter won Doubles Team of the Week on February 3.

Pisaric, another sophomore from Novi Sad, Serbia completed the regular season with an 8-7 singles record, boasting a 2-0 record in WCC singles play. His tag-team with Poertner in doubles play this season was highlighted by a victory over the 82nd-ranked combo of Mohammad Alkotop/Azariah Rusher from No. 20 Florida State in the fall. Pisaric and Poertner finished 8-6 in doubles play this season.

Almeida, a freshman standout from Guarapuava, Brazil, went 8-7 in singles matches during the 2025-26 campaign. His pairing with Homberg saw a 4-3 record in doubles action. One of Almeida's most impressive performances this season was a straight-sets victory at the number five position against Aadarsh Tripathi on February 7 against No. 15 UCLA. The first-year player earned Freshman of the Week honors on March 3 and 31.

The aforementioned Homberg, representing Pepperdine's lone senior, went 10-9 in singles action. The Freising, Germany native will finish his career as a five-time All-Conference award winner, beginning with Singles Honorable Mention and culminating with the Second Team Honorable Mention this spring.

Fix was one of the Waves' best singles players all season, boasting a solid 14-5 record. He's red-hot going into postseason action, winning nine of his last 11 matches. He diced up West Coast Conference opponents, going a perfect 6-0 in conference singles matches. He also earned Singles Player of the Week on March 10.

The Waves will play the winner of the Santa Clara (3-seed) - Saint Mary's (6-seed) matchup on Friday at noon pacific time in the semifinal round of the WCC Tournament.
