SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Pepperdine women's soccer's (9-4-2, 5-1 WCC) Julia Quinonez earned the WCC's Offensive Player of the Week award for the fourth time this season, announced Monday afternoon.
Notching her fifth match-winning goal of the season Saturday night at Pacific, the senior earns the eighth weekly award of her collegiate career. Quinonez leads the league in live-action goals with 11, tallying a total of 12 to place her second in the conference. Leading the nation in shot accuracy, the Torrance, Calif. Native shoots a ridiculous .769 on goal.
Tallying 31 goals in her career, Quinonez is sixth all-time in Pepperdine history for goals scored. Making more waves in the record book, the senior is currently tied for second all-time for match-winning goals in a season with five, and tied for fifth with 12 goals in a single season.
With three matches to go in the regular season, the Waves are narrowly atop the WCC at 5-1. For the first time in conference history, the WCC will hold a postseason tournament with the top four teams in the conference participating. The number one overall seed will host both matches Nov. 11 with the championship match occurring Nov. 14.
The Waves host two matches at Tari Frahm this week, welcoming the Broncos of Santa Clara to Malibu for a Wednesday afternoon match. Set for a 3 p.m. kickoff, the match will be available to stream on ESPN+ (subscription required) with live stats available at www.pepperdinewaves.com
