MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine women's basketball (13-9, 4-6 WCC) put up a season-high 90 points to cruise past the Seattle Redhawks (5-16, 1-9 WCC) on the National Girls and Women's in Sport Day celebration Thursday night in Firestone Fieldhouse.

Holding the lead after the opening two minutes of the game, the Waves never let up control all night. Ahead by as much as 32 in the fourth quarter, Pepperdine shared the ball as four different Waves secured double-digit performances.
Bella Green scored a career-high 21 while tallying her second double-double of the season with 10 rebounds.
Scoring 20 in the first quarter,
Lina Falk led the way with five points, followed closely by Green and
Elli Guiney who had four as the team collectively shot .563 from the field while limiting Seattle to .294.
In the best offensive outing of the night, Pepperdine scored 30 in the second 10-minute stretch, led by Guiney who went 3-for-4 from deep, scoring a total of 12 in the quarter. At the break, the Waves held a 50-32 lead. In the first half, Green was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field, including hitting her only shot from distance.
Coming out of the half was the most even showing from both squads with Pepperdine narrowly taking the 23-20 advantage. Green and
Shorna Preston shared the top-performer spot for the third quarter with six apiece. Going into the fourth, the Waves led 73-52.
The final quarter was the lowest combined score of the night as Pepperdine closed the game outscoring Seattle 17-11. Guiney tallied over half the team's points with seven as Green grabbed a quarter-high four rebounds. 14 of the 17 points came in the paint as Guiney hit the lone triple of the fourth. As a team, Pepperdine scored 11 from beyond the arc on 21 attempts. The Waves defeated the Redhawks 90-63 to take a two game win streak on the road as they face top-of-the-table Santa Clara Saturday afternoon.
With win number 13 coming Jan. 29, Pepperdine has not won a game this late in the season in three years. This is also the first 13+ win season for the Waves since the 2019-2020 season.
GAME NOTES
- Elli Guiney led the squad with 23 points.
- On her second double-double of the season, Bella Green dropped a career-high 21 points with a team-leading 10 rebounds.
- Lina Falk and Meghan Fiso also secured double-digit performances with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Guiney dished a game-high five assists, one shy of a career high.
- Shooting .524 from deep, the Waves net 11 triples.
- Pepperdine was a perfect 9-for-9 from the charity stripe.
- Pepperdine pulled over a third of their points off the bench with 33, compared to Seattle's six.
- The Waves outrebounded the Redhawks 44-28.
- The 27-point victory is the largest margin for the Waves against a DI opponent since Dec. 27, 2021 in a 53-80 victory over Cal State Bakersfield.
- Pepperdine has not dropped 90 on a team in regulation since the 2018-19 season, doing so in a 91-79 win in the opening round of the WNIT against California Baptist.
