MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine men's basketball head coach
Ed Schilling has announced the full non-conference slate for the Waves ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The non-conference schedule features 13 games in total with eight coming at home in Malibu as the Waves play their final season in Firestone Fieldhouse.
"I'm really excited about our non-conference schedule this year," said head coach
Ed Schilling. "I believe we have put together a challenging schedule that has a nice blend of home and away games. Obviously, playing at UCLA where our (assistant coach)
Tyus Edney won a national championship and also where I was fortunate to be an assistant coach for four years is an exciting opportunity. It's our hope that this non-conference schedule will prepare us for the incredibly tough WCC season."
Pepperdine will play a pair of exhibition contests to prepare for the season beginning at home against CSU Northridge on Saturday, Oct. 18 before a trip to UC Riverside on Oct. 25. The season will then officially open up at home on Monday, Nov. 3 against Life Pacific.
The Waves will then make the short trip to Los Angeles to take on a Big Ten opponent in UCLA on Friday, November 7th.
A four-game homestand kicks off the following Tuesday, as the Waves play host to Lincoln University on Nov. 11, before Northern Colorado makes the trip to Malibu next on Saturday, Nov. 15.
The Waves will then take on a pair of unfamiliar opponents, welcoming New Orleans on Tuesday, Nov. 18 for the first-ever meeting between the two programs before hosting Stephen F. Austin on Friday, Nov. 21. The fixture marks the second meeting between Pepperdine and SFA and first since 1993.Â
Pepperdine will then take part in the Acrisure Series in Palm Desert, California. The Waves will take on Fresno State on Wednesday, Nov. 26 from Acrisure Arena at 4:00 p.m. Now in its third year, the Acrisure Series brings together over 20 NCAA Division I programs for 18 games over four days of competition in the Coachella Valley.
The Waves stay on the road next to face CSU Fullerton on Saturday, Nov. 29.
The beginning of a home-and-home with Abilene Christian begins with Pepperdine hosting its sister school on Tuesday, Dec. 2. The Waves then host another first-time opponent as Vermont makes the trip to Malibu on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Pepperdine hits the road for a pair of Big West opponents next with a trip to CSU Bakersfield on Saturday, Dec. 13 before a contest at Long Beach State on Thursday, Dec. 18.
The non-conference slate will come to a close as the Waves host Rice on Saturday, Dec. 20, which begins a home-and-home with the Owls.
Pepperdine is coming off a 2024-25 campaign that saw it reach the WCC semifinals for the first time in four seasons in Schilling's first year at the helm. It marked the Waves 17th all-time appearance in the WCC semifinals.
