MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine soccer alumna Hannah Seabert signed a professional contract with Angel City FC, the club announced Friday afternoon.
Seabert ('17) is signing with the National Women's Soccer League club through the 2026 season after playing for Sporting CP in Portugal since 2022.
While at Pepperdine, the Riverside, Calif. native was a part of two NCAA tournament teams, including the 2014 Sweet 16 tournament run, the farthest Pepperdine has ever gone in postseason play. At the end of her illustrious collegiate career, Seabert etched her name into the record books with the most saves from a Waves goalkeeper with 331 through 82 games. Seabert also sits second all-time in wins and fifth in saves per game.
After graduating in 2017, the goalkeeper continued her athletic success at a professional level, signing with the Orlando Pride in the NWSL before heading overseas to play with the Fortuna Hjørring in the Danish Women's League. After 33 appearances in one season, Seabert signed with Vålerenga in Norway for the 2019 season, winning back-to-back Norwegian Women's Cups in 2020 and 2021 before signing with Sporting CP in 2022.
As a part of the Lions, Seabert has the most caps of any goalkeeper for the club, winning two Taça de Portugal, or Portuguese Cups, in 2022 and most recently last week in a 3-1 victory over Benfica.
"We are so proud of Hannah! She absolutely deserves this as her playing career has been phenomenal," Pepperdine head coach Tim Ward said. "Besides being an amazing human being and model professional, she is also a wonderful ambassador not only for our program, but for Pepperdine University."
Seabert is the second Wave to sign with Angel City after Kelsey Hill inked a contract in 2023 as a national team replacement player. She will join the club July 1.
