Vallely Set for the 3-Meter at NCAA Zones

MALIBU, Calif. – Vivian Vallely will represent the Pepperdine women's swim and dive program at NCAA Zones in Federal Way, Wash. in the 3-meter diving competition on Monday.

Vivian Vallely (Newport Beach, Calif.) punched her ticket to the 3-meter competition at the Rodionoff Invite back in early October. ​​In her first 3-meter event of the year, Vallely took second out of the 16 divers and posted a score of 283.50 to qualify for the NCAA Zones 3-meter competition for the second consecutive year.

On Monday, all 54 divers will begin prelims at 11:30 a.m. and finals will follow 10 minutes after the end of the preliminary round. The top-18 divers in the prelims will qualify for the finals and the preliminary scores will carry forward and be added to the scores in the finals to determine the final results. In Vallely's 3-meter Zone E diving competition, the top-8 divers will qualify for the NCAA Championships held in Federal Way, Wash. on March 19-22.

AWARDS — Vallely earned the MPSF Athlete of the Week award on October 8 after she qualified for NCAA Zones with a second place finish and a score of 283.50 in the 3-meter competition. She then earned another second place finish as she totaled 254.95 points in the 1-meter competition the very next day.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL — At the MPSF Championships, Vallely took home both the 3-meter and the 1-meter championship with respective scores of 270.45 and 256.05 as she helped Pepperdine win its third conference championship in four years and claim the MPSF Title.

WHAT'S NEXT — Five Waves swimmers - Alexandra Browne, Layla Busquets, Ansley Halbach, Charli Sunahara and Sophia Ware will head to Ocala, Fla. for the National Invitational Championship on March 13-15.
