Pepperdine Finishes the ASU/PING Invitational in Fifth

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Pepperdine women's golf team finished the ASU/Ping Invitational tied for 5th at 7-over with a three-day score of 871 (286-296-289).

In the final round, the 42nd-ranked Waves shot a 1-over 289 on the 6,586-yard par-72 Papago Golf Club to finish 2-strokes ahead of #34 California.
Â
Lauren Gomez led the Waves with a 4-under 212 as she earned her fourth top-10 finish of the season, and the 16th such finish of her career.

#9 Arizona State won the tournament at 36-under with a three-round total of 828, while #12 Northwestern and #21 Kansas rounded out the top-three with respective scores of 841 (-23) and 853 (-11).

- Senior Lauren Gomez (Murrieta, Calif.) finished tied for 8th with a three-round total of 212 (71-73-68) (-4). Today, Gomez shot an impressive 4-under 68 with six birdies as she earned her fourth top-10 finish of the year, and her 16th such finish as a Wave. With her 16th all-time finish in the top-10, Gomez moved into sole possession of ninth on the Waves all-time top-10 finishes list.
- Junior Jeneath Wong (Melbourne, Australia) ended the ASU/Ping Invitational tied for 12th at 1-under with a three-day score of 215 (70-75-70). Today, Wong tallied a 2-under 70, while collecting four birdies. With her finish, Wong earned her fifth top-20 finish this season, and her 19th career finish inside the top-20.
- Freshman Grace Anderson (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) ended the tournament tied for 45th with a total of 223 (74-73-76) (+7). Anderson posted a 4-over 76 with one birdie during her final round.
- Freshman Eunseo Choi (Auckland, New Zealand) carded a 3-over 75 today. She finished tied for 49th at 8-over with a three-day score of 224 (73-76-75).
- Junior Yingzhi Zhu (Nanjing, China) tabbed a 6-over 78 on Sunday. Zhu ended the tournament tied for 51st with a three-round total of 225 (72-75-78) (+9).
- Playing as an individual, freshman Nishna Patel (Mumbai, India) finished in 75th at 26-over with a total of 242 (81-82-79). Patel recorded two birdies during her 7-over 79 on Sunday.
