MALIBU, Calif. – Sophomore
Julia Quinonez has been called up as one of 22 players to attend the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team Training Camp, U.S. Soccer announced Friday.
The camp will take place March 31 - April 7 at the Kansas City Current's University of Kansas System Training Center in Kansas City, Mo. This is Quinonez' first time being called up to the US Youth National Team, getting called up by the U20 Mexican National Team last year.
The Torrance, Calif. native joins players from all over the country, ranging from Stanford to Maryland, including two professional NWSL players in Jordyn Bugg and Emeri Adames.
"We're so proud of Julia and her recent call up to the U20's," Head Coach
Tim Ward said. "Last year Jules had a few opportunities to play with the Mexican U20 team and in one of those games, she scored on the US U20 team. I'm thinking they didn't forget that. And they are about to find out what we already know, Julia is both an amazing player and perhaps, more importantly, an amazing human being. We're so proud of her and are super excited for the next chapter of her remarkable journey."
